Kathleen Harrison explains what it takes for a new drug to be win approval for sale in Canada. This is the fourth presentation in our new monthly Brain Storm speakers' series.
THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE DO NOT YET KNOW THE NEW DATE.
Health Canada's Drug Review Process confirms approval for sale of a medicine, and requires clinical – and experimental – evidence of safety and efficacy. However, what proves that a drug is safe, or effective? Indeed, Canadians may not have access to new drugs, as cost-benefit analysis of a compound’s may not be sufficient. Understanding this process is essential to creating high-yield and sustainable medical practices.
This is the third of our new monthly Brain Storm series of talks by students from Queen's Centre for Neuroscience Studies. The April presentation, at 7 PM on Monday May 11 at the Calvin Park branch, will be Preserving Memory.
