Aging Well is a bi-weekly speakers' series that explores topics of interest for older adults.
Learn the best practices for preserving treasured photographs and letters with KFPL and the Queen's University Archives.
This presentation is of particular interest to genealogical researchers, and explores best practices for storing personal treasures like letters and photographs. Participants will learn how to care for their family history documents, including detailed instructions on proper storage and handling. Our presenters will also offer advice about must-have archival supplies, when to seek out the help of an independent conservator, and briefly discuss the options for digitizing photographs and letters to ensure that they will be available for future generations.
The forty-five minute presentation will be followed by a show-and-tell of various holdings from the Queen's University Archives and a question-and-answer period.
This program is in partnership with Compassionate Communities Kingston.
