Join Sheila Nemcsok for an informative workshop on safely and ethically collecting wild food from urban nature. This workshop includes a classroom session, in Meeting Room 2 of the Kingston East Community Centre,  and an outdoor lesson that gives hands-on exposure to forageable plants in their natural setting.

Sheila is a Kingston-based urban forager whose pandemic passion project was to bring foraging education to her community. She grew up in Northern Ontario, where her family regularly foraged for blueberries, hazelnuts, wintergreen and other wild foods. She has a certificate in Plant-Based Medicine from Cornell University and a Master Naturalist certificate from Lakehead University.

KFPL will host eight foraging workshops between April and November. Registration opens a month before each session. With short harvesting windows for forageable goods, attending multiple workshops will maximize your learning.
