April is National Poetry Month and in celebration Kingston Poet Laureate Jason Heroux is offering a 90-minute workshop focusing on writing joyful poems. Registration is open to those aged 14 or older.

Joy has taken a backseat for most of this past year, as we've navigated through one of the most troubling periods the world has ever experienced. We're still traveling through it. What if joy were in the driver's seat for 90 minutes? Where would it take us? What would we see and hear? Please join Kingston's Poet Laureate Jason Heroux for this poetry workshop focusing on writing joyful poems.

Participants should come prepared to participate in writing exercises and to share their work with the group.

This is the first of two identical workshops. It will be repeated at 7 p.m. on Monday April 26. To register for the second workshop please visit https://calendar.kfpl.ca/event/5001469.

This interactive online presentation will be held on Zoom. Registrants will be emailed the link immediately upon registration. Please check your Junk or Spam folder if you don't see the link right after you register. Participants will need to download the latest version of Zoom in advance to the device they’ll be using during the workshop.

KFPL acknowledges the support of the City of Kingston through the Poet Laureate program, increasing the profile of the literary arts within the City and beyond.
