For adults. This half-hour, six-week beginner ukulele workshop series will teach the basic anatomy of the ukulele, plus chords, strumming, and songs.
This interactive online program will be held Thursdays on Zoom from 6:30 to 7 p.m., from May 13 through June 17. A limited number of spaces are available so that we can provide more one-on-one support to each participant. Registrants will receive a Zoom meeting link at least 24 hours before the first session. Participants will need to download Zoom in advance to whichever device they'll be using for this program.
Registrants will be able to borrow ukulele kits from the Isabel Turner Branch using the library card associated with their registration. You will be asked when registering whether you are right- or left-handed, or if you already own a ukulele; a limited number of left-handed ukuleles will be available for borrowing. You will be contacted when your kit is ready to be picked up. Due to the pandemic ukulele kits may be collected only at the Isabel Turner branch; check pickup hours at https://www.kfpl.ca/hours-and-locations/isabel-turner-branch. Make sure you bring your library card when you come!
Due to the limited time available participants must be able to commit to signing in promptly each week, to attending each of the six sessions, and to returning any library-owned ukuleles to the Isabel Turner branch no later than Monday June 21. This program will not be offered again before the fall.
