This event - in partnership with The Witch Institute - will explore the image of the witch in popular media in contrast to realities of the Pagan community.
The Witch Institute and KFPL present an informational session and discussion aimed at separating Hollywood drama from the Pagan worldview.
Following a review of common themes from popular entertainment, Local Wiccan priest Brendan Fox will explain what Wiccan practice actually looks like for practitioners today. Attendees will learn about the seasonal Lammas festival and how it embodies key themes in the Pagan worldview: a reverence for the divine as existing within the natural world; a sense of equality and community, even when practicing alone or online; and an emphasis on an interior spiritual connection, rather than theatricality. Questions are welcomed throughout, and the informational session will be followed by a question and answer period.
