King Con presents a three hour character development workshop comics, video games, toys, and animation!
Ever wondered how professionals create original characters for comics, video games, toys and animation? Join Howard Wong (Iron Man: Hong Kong Heroes), Mike Rooth (TMNT: The Last Ronin) and Shane Kirshenblatt (Mark Twain’s Niagara) for a 3-hour workshop where participants will get a firsthand look at how some of your favourite characters are created!
Workshop facilitators will demonstrate how one creates an original character from concept to sketch, and sketch to sculpting—LIVE! They will also share professional tips and tricks, as well as personal anecdotes from their own experiences creating and developing characters for Bandai, Bungie, Dark Horse, IDW, Image Comics, Valiant, Marvel Comics and others. Bring paper, pencils, erasers and anything you want to colour with, as well as Play-Doh to join in the fun and create your own original character!
This interactive online event is presented by the King Con Collective on Zoom. Registration will close on Friday, June 25 at 9:00 am, and registrants will be emailed the link before 5:00 pm that day.
