Fake or fact? Participants in this workshop will be invited to consider how they find and access information, and how they can support their teens in navigating complex digital environments.
If you’re a parent of an adolescent you’re likely concerned with the amount of the amount of material/misinformation your child encounters daily, particularly online. How can you help them learn to separate facts from fake news? Do they know how to find reliable information on topics that matter to them? How can you support them while they make sense of what they learn?
Our presenters -- Claire Ahn from Queen’s University and Natalia Balyasnikova from York University, each an assistant professor in their respective faculties of education -- will help you tackle these questions.
This online presentation will be held on Zoom. Registrants will be emailed the link immediately upon registration. (Please check your Junk and Spam folders right away if you don't see the confirmation email and link in your Inbox, then adjust your settings to make sure emails from KFPL aren't blocked.
