This presentation examines humanity's long-standing fascination with Mars and how we explore it using orbiters, landers and rovers. Should we try to establish a human presence on Mars and use our technology to transform it into a more Earth-like planet? 

With the total solar eclipse coming up on Monday, April 8, 2024, following the main presentation, Hitchens will also explain how eclipses work and demonstrate using a scale model.
