Aging Well is a bi-weekly speakers' series that explores topics of interest for older adults.
A presentation on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in Canada, exploring its evolution and the ethical dilemmas surrounding it. Key topics will include whether vulnerable populations are being properly protected, the potential for a "slippery slope" leading to unwanted deaths, and who should be deemed eligible for assisted death. The presentation will examine these complex issues and the evolving legal and moral landscape of MAiD in Canada.
Presented by guest speaker Udo Schuklenk, PhD, Professor of Philosophy at Queen's University and Ontario Research Chair in Bioethics.
