For adults ages 18+. Join Reelout Queer Film Festival for a movie screening! Registration required.

Join Reelout Queer Film Festival and the Kingston Frontenac Public Library for a screening of In Her Gaze: Women's Shorts. The films are unrated and recommended for an adult audience.

Reelout and the Friends of the Library have generously sponsored 20 free tickets for library patrons ages 18+. A library card is required for registration. Patrons can register for a library card online.

Additional tickets will be available for purchase on the Reelout website starting January 1.

Light refreshments provided.

In Her Gaze: Women’s Shorts

The Last Film – dir. Sunita Singh/15:48/India/2024 From the intimate corners of her home to the vibrant chaos of Old Delhi, Ila, a 68-year old woman,  navigates the delicate dance between memory and reality, seeking solace in the remnants of a life once lived.

Seeking-Me (Busco-Me) - dir. Maria Camila Ortiz, Suelen Rodrigues, Felipe Chiaretti, Santiago Mendez/18:55/Brazil/2023/Spanish with English subtitles Luisa Boaventura is a woman starting to forget, wandering off into the maze of her memory at times. At the bus station, she writes in an attempt to safeguard her memories, especially those related to the great love of her youth.

Black Pendulums (Les Pendules Noires) -dir. Mathilde Algans,Théo Michel/15:00/France/French with English subtitles Shortly after a tragic accident that took the life of her girlfriend, Ambre, a young writer, has a coffee with Jade, her editor and childhood friend. All their lives, the two women were inseparable and full of ambition, but their friendship is now overwhelmed by resentment and guilt. To overcome their grief, they must give up what was once their greatest strength.

Anything with a Switch – dir. Charli Brissey/4:34/USA/2024 A short movement study on sapphic longing and obsession.

REAL - dir. Maria Forsythe/5:00/USA/2020/ASL & English with English closed captioning Exploring Deafness, love, and the lengths we go to find it. Lauren  navigates relationships and connections in a world of complex communication.

Hi Mrs. Friedman! - dir. Rachel Epstein/7:48/Canada/2018 Awkward hijinks ensue when a mother and daughter show up at a queer sex club on the same night. 

Bindweed – dir. Juliette Leach/12:58/Canada/2024 Rae has a deep connection to their garden of puppets, so much so that when Rae flourishes, so do their flowers. When Rae becomes overwhelmed by the demands of adult life - working, cleaning, keeping up with their loved ones - a neglected sprout of bindweed overwhelms their flowers too.

The Tree – dir.Ida Hansen Eldøen/14:00/Norway/2023/Norwegian with English subtitles Low and hungover, Rebecca finds herself fighting off her ex-girlfriend Vivian, who has turned up to claim the apple tree they had planted in Rebecca’s backyard.

Auntie Issues (Complejo de Algo)- dir.Rita Hostt, Tadeo Pestaña Caro/14:06/Argentina/Spanish with English subtitles Veronica is known for falling in love with her middle aged teachers. One day, wondering why this is, she has an epiphany.
