Research shows children can lose up to two months of reading skills over the summer, but regular reading helps them return to school stronger—making KFPL's Summer Reading Club a fun way to keep skills sharp and kids excited about books.
Teens can also enjoy reading as a way to keep academic skills sharp over the summer. Better yet, reading for fun is known to relieve stress and boost moods - a perfect hobby for a relaxing summer break.
For adults, summer reading can be an opportunity to challenge and expand their reading habits, while also enjoying dedicated time to one's interests, engaging in lifelong learning, and reducing stress.
