Grades 1-3. Whether your child is sounding out French words, learning new vocabulary, or gaining confidence speaking aloud, Bilingual Read & Play makes language learning engaging, social, and fun!
Bilingual Read & Play is a fun and welcoming bilingual program for children in Grades 1–3 who are building their confidence as French speakers and readers. Designed for students who would benefit from a little extra practice and encouragement, the program helps children strengthen their French reading skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Participants will learn alongside friendly teen volunteers who are fluent French speakers and readers. Together, they'll enjoy stories, games, conversation, and other interactive activities that make learning French fun. Through guided reading, language-rich play, and supportive interactions with peers and mentors, children will develop their reading, listening, and speaking skills while gaining confidence along the way.
This program is ideal for children who are still developing their French language abilities. It is not intended for children who are already fluent French readers and speakers.
Registration is for the full six weeks.
Caregivers of children under the age of 7 must remain in the program space; caregivers of children ages 7-9 must remain in the library during the program. Thank you.
