Looking to cultivate a creative community of learners? Well, look no further! In collaboration with the Cultivate Art Commons, KFPL co-hosts this monthly book club.
Book: Yaga by Kat Sandler
Available as an E-book through Hoopla, located here.
Activity: Crossword Puzzles
Facilitator: Haley Sarfeld
For this Learning for Liberation session, we're inviting folks to join us for an evening of discussion surrounding gender, power, violence, myth and folklore through the lens of the murder-mystery format. This structure lends itself well to puzzle creation as the group will build a set of clues that lead down a narrative path.
Please be advised that the work deals with themes of sexual violence.
On the first Tuesday of each month, folks will come together to discuss the book at hand, whilst participating in a hands-on art activity.
All art activity materials are provided.
Sessions are led in partnership with Cultivate Art Commons, a non-profit organization in Katarokwi/Kingston dedicated to supporting contemporary artists through equity-rooted, community-engaged artistic practice.
This program is generously funded by the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area.
