You never know when a sudden illness may arise or a serious accident happen. Learn how to plan for your future needs so your wishes will be respected and carried out if you can't speak for yourself.

Have you thought about what will be most important to you if you were seriously ill or injured, or if you were near the end of life?  Who will speak for you if you are unable, and have you communicated your beliefs, values and wishes clearly to them?

Advance Care Planning helps you arrange for your future care needs so your values, beliefs and wishes will be respected and carried out.  Learn how choosing a Substitute Decision Maker and communicating clearly your future care needs to them now can allow you to maintain responsibility for your own autonomy, and to avoid family disputes or agonizing dilemmas.

This interactive online program from Compassionate Communities Kingston will be held on Zoom. Registrants will be emailed the link when they register. Participants will need to download the latest version of Zoom in advance to the device they’ll be using during the presentation.

This Review meeting is a follow-up to the Introduction meetings held online in February through KFPL and earlier through the Seniors Centre.  It is meant as a refresher of the material presented in the Introduction meetings and is an opportunity for those who attended an Introduction session to ask questions and receive more direction, now that they have had a chance to reflect on what they learned.  It will be offered three times:

Advance Care Planning: A Review for Past Attendees sessions

All three Review sessions are identical.  Spaces are limited, so please register for only a single Review session.  Please do not register if you have not already attended an Introduction meeting.

If you don't yet have a KFPL membership or if you need to renew one, please apply for one by following the steps on our Getting a Library Card page.
