Recommended for ages 13 to 24. Join KFPL and the United Way for a panel discussion on youth homelessness and reducing stigma.

Panelists will share their lived experiences and discuss resources that youth experiencing homelessness can access.

This presentation requires free registration. A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants. Registration will close 30 minutes before the event.

Panelists:

Krystal O’Farrell – Case Manager, One Roof Youth Hub
One Roof is a community-based youth hub where youth-serving agencies provide wraparound services for vulnerable and homeless youth.

Victoria Adams – Youth Outreach Worker, Youth Diversion Program
Youth Diversion helps youth overcome challenges by providing prevention, intervention and educational services that divert youth from risk and support their ability to thrive.

Catherine Oxford – Manager of Youth Services, Kingston Youth Shelter
Kingston Youth Shelter provides a supportive and stable environment for youth, as well as the tools and life skills to help youth emerge from their immediate or on-going housing crisis. Programs include emergency shelter, transitional housing and family mediation.

River Hill – Lived Experience Consultant, United Way Youth Homelessness Steering Committee
River is a young person who shares their lived experience with youth homelessness, mental health, and perspective as a queer and Indigenous person to advocate for system change to benefit marginalized communities. They believe in a peer-to-peer based approach, and working the perspectives and experiences of people with lived experience in the decision-making that affects them at a systemic level. They believe in a world where youth are uplifted and empowered to become change makers in their community and beyond.
