Join KFPL and LDSB in welcoming Jesse Wente!
Jesse is an Anishinaabe writer, broadcasting personality and arts advocate. He is the author of Unreconciled: Family, Truth, and Indigenous Resistance and served as a columnist for CBC's Metro Morning. Jesse was appointed Chair of the Canada Council for the Arts in 2020, worked with the Toronto International Film Festival, and was appointed Executive Director of the Indigenous Screen Office in 2018.
Jesse will speak on narrative sovereignty - the ability for somebody or a community to tell their own stories, rather than be defined by the stories of others. This forty-five minute talk will be followed by a fifteen-minute moderated Q&A where participants can submit questions for Jesse.
This event was made possible because of our partners at the Limestone District School Board.
